After attending an all-girls competition that wasn’t all girls, we realized there was a gender gap in FIRST. After further investigation, we realized it was also an issue in STEM.
As a team, we want to right a wrong.
The Spark
We spent lots of time doing our research and putting a plan together on how to push forward. At one of Michigan's all-girls competitions, we presented about our initiative at opening ceremonies and collected our first videos from other teams.
We realized we could make a difference.
Widening Our Reach
In 2024, we began reaching out further - to women in robotics, FIRST alumna, and FIRST Robotics competition participants. We also highlighted at competitions.
Now, we begin to gain momentum.
Moving Forward
In the future, we hope to bring this to the state and bring on big change. FIRST in Michigan (FiM) sends the most number of teams to Worlds… if FiM teams adopts our cause, we can change the world.
